Prof. Hattenhauer is particularly concerned with the historical and European references of civil law. His areas of interest are the history of civil law dogma, legal humanism, and the history of German legislation in the 19th century.<\/p>\n

His publications include essays, encyclopedia articles, and edited anthologies on legal history and current civil law, as well as the monographs \u201cEinseitige private Rechtsgestaltung. Geschichte und Dogma\u201d, \u201cWahl und Kr\u00f6nung Franz II. AD 1792. Das Heilige Reich kr\u00f6nt seinen letzten Kaiser \u2013 Das Tagebuch des Reichsquartiermeisters Hieronymus Gottfried von M\u00fcller und Anlagen\u201d and \u201cSchuldenregulierung nach dem Westf\u00e4lischen Frieden. Der sog. \u00a7 de indaganda und seiner Umsetzung im J\u00fcngsten Reichsabschied (AD 1648 und 1654).\u201d A database of the materials of the Civil Code for the Kingdom of Saxony of 1863\/65 is nearing completion.<\/p>\n
