Among his publications are: \u201cDie Jesusbewegung. Sozialgeschichte einer Revolution der Werte\u201d, \u201cDer historische Jesus. Ein Lehrbuch\u201d (with A. Merz), \u201cDie Religion der ersten Christen. Eine Theorie des Urchristentums\u201d, \u201cErleben und Verhalten der ersten Christen. Eine Psychologie des Urchristentums\u201d, and \u201cZur Bibel motivieren. Aufgabe, Inhalte und Methoden einer offenen Bibeldidaktik\u201d. He also published several volumes of sermons and a volume on homiletics.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Theissen has received numerous honors for his work, including the Burkitt Medal for Biblical Studies from the British Academy.
